Plugging & Testing
Tube Plugs
Tube plugs provide a short-term solution to solve leaking exchangers in the field allowing operations to return the unit to service. Providing a timeline for a long-term solution to be deployed.
Mechanical Tube Plugs
Pop-A-Plug® CPI/Perma tube plugs are resistant to thermal cycling and are able to provide a seal that is helium leak tight. Pop-A-Plug® CPI/Perma tube plug installs using a controlled force. This protects against damage to tube sheet ligaments and adjacent tube sheet joints, extending the life of your heat exchanger and reducing total operating cost.
Driven Tube Plugs
Our driven tube plugs offer an easily deployed solution for leaking tubes providing greater range of I.D. measurements. EGI’s tube plugs utilize a longer design and shallower taper providing better-sealing results on the first try.
Testing Tools
EGI provides testing tools in a variety of formats using pressure, vacuum, and hydrostatic methods of testing
Hydrostatic Test Pumps
Hydrostatic Test pumps are a staple in the petro-chemical, pipe welding and testing industries. Having been in these industries for more than 25 years, we have perfected the power, pressure, weight, and speed ratios of hydrostatic test pumps. Our hydrostatic test pumps feature SC hydraulic pumps manufactured in California and final system construction in Houston, Texas.
Safety is our number one concern. Only the highest quality pressure-rated components are used in the assembly process of our pumps. Our pumps feature stainless-steel valves, fittings, and bronze components for extended life cycles.
The wheeled-cart design allows you to maneuver in close quarters and traverse long distances with ease. Our pumps deliver the reliability and dependability that you expect and deserve when pressure testing pipe and vessels. Every pump is tested prior to departing the factory to ensure it meets our rigid quality control specifications.
Tube Pressure Testing Tools
The advanced design of the Curtiss-Wright EST Tube Testers enables an operator to test the entire length of the tube between the tube sheets for leaks, merely by pressing a button. Air pressure is induced through the gun causing the seals to expand. Easy to read gauges will display and hold pressure if there are no leaks. Specify tube O.D. and gauge when ordering. Standard method for testing tubes provides reliable results. Fast acting, easy to use tester saves time allowing fast identification of leaking tubes, therefore reducing labor. Seals are sized specifically for the tube I.D. creating a positive seal.
Vacuum Testing
The vacuum leak tester KVLD-3000 is a simple, precise method of testing tubes in boilers, condensers, and heat exchangers. It is the fastest, most accurate means of locating leaky tubes for plugging or replacement. Only one tool is necessary for testing multiple tube sizes, with a built-in easy to read vacuum gauge, muffled exhaust for quiet operation, lightweight, and easy to use.
The KVLD-3000 covers a wide range of tubes with one unit: ¼” to 3” and requires 90 PSI.
